Labh Panchami is the combination of two words ie. Labh means “good luck” and Panchami means “Fifth”. Also known as “Gyaan Panchami” and “Saubhaagya Panchami”, this day is celebrated on the Panchami tithi in Shukla Paksha of Kartik Month, as per Hindu calendar.
It is the final day of Diwali festivities, marked with celebration of Labh Panchami, popularly known as “Labh Pancham” in Gujarat. It is considered Labh Pancham is extremely auspicious to start new business venture or operating your ongoing business
It is believed, on this day, performing puja brings prosperity, benefit and good fortune in both, personal as well as professional lives. Gujarati businessmen also open new accounting books, ie. ledger, popularly known, in gujarati, as “Khatu” on this day. They do this by writing “Shubh” on one side and “Labh” on other side of the book.
